Launch of Al-Hwait Program in Al-Zwayhera District within Diriyah Season 25/26 to consolidate national identity and enhance educational tourism
In a unique experience that combines cultural tourism and educational entertainment, the Al-Hwait program was launched today in the historic Al-Zwayhera district, one of the most prominent neighborhoods of Diriyah. The program aims to strengthen the connection of the new generation with authentic Diriyah values and traditions within an interactive framework that reflects the depth of national identity for Diriyah Season 25/26.
The program, which opens its doors daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, is characterized by providing content that combines family entertainment and an educational tourism experience. Through innovative interactive activities that reflect Saudi cultural heritage in a contemporary style, it contributes to enhancing communication between youth and their parents, making a visit to the Al-Zwayhera district a complete tourism experience.
Al-Zwayhera district embodies a living model of harmony between cultural heritage and sustainable tourism development. Its historical monuments and mosques, foremost among them the Al-Zwayhera Mosque, reflect its deep history and its role in educating youth in the past. The Al-Hwait program comes as an extension of this role, by transforming local heritage into an attractive educational entertainment experience for visitors.
The program includes five main areas designed to be an interactive tourism journey simulating stages of life in Diriyah. It begins with the Family Oasis, an open space for entertainment and relaxation; followed by the Habitat area, which introduces children to the arts of decision-making and building Najdi houses; then the Al-Faydah area, which offers a traditional agricultural experience reflecting the prosperity of Diriyah. The Al-Nahda area embodies the vitality of daily life and ancient trade in an interactive entertainment style; and the journey concludes at the Fortress platform, an interactive maze that promotes teamwork, thinking skills, and problem-solving.
The program provides an integrated tourism and entertainment space, designed with architectural elements inspired by the character and urban identity of Diriyah, supported by audio and visual displays that enrich the experience and contribute to increasing the site’s attractiveness as a family tourism destination.
The Al-Hwait program aims to enhance Diriyah’s position as a global cultural and entertainment tourism destination, transforming local history into a living experience that combines education and entertainment. It also seeks to consolidate the presence of the historic Al-Zwayhera district as an active tourist landmark within a sustainable system that links culture, society, and the tourism economy.
Diriyah Season 25/26 is part of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority’s strategy, which aims to highlight Diriyah as a global cultural and tourism destination through qualitative experiences that contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, enhancing quality of life, and making Diriyah a vibrant center for Saudi identity and a destination for visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom.
