“Al-Taawoun” Criticizes Recurring Refereeing Errors This Season and Calls for a Review of the Monitoring System.

2 Min Read

Al-Taawoun FC expressed its deep dissatisfaction and condemnation of what it described as recurring refereeing injustice during this season, pointing out that these unacceptable practices cannot be overlooked and are considered a direct blow to the principle of competitive justice.

In an official statement, the club said that since the beginning of the season, the management has been keen to follow the formal and official path, filing repeated complaints and denunciations to the Referees Committee and its chairman, supported by evidence and facts. However, unfortunately, this has not produced any tangible impact on the ground, raising legitimate questions about the mechanisms of processing and accountability!

The statement added that Al-Taawoun, as witnessed by everyone, succeeded in rivaling money and global names on the pitch, delivering distinguished technical performances that reflect the development and strength of the league. However, each time, the team was let down by officiating through influential decisions that altered the results of decisive matches, wasted the efforts of the players and the technical and administrative staffs, and frustrated the club’s fans.

The club emphasized its full respect for the refereeing system, but stated that reality dictates an undeniable truth: the cost of recruiting foreign referees for some matches is equivalent to the budget of an entire club in neighboring leagues, at a time when local refereeing is suffering a clear decline and quality that absolutely does not match the league’s technical value or declared ambitions. Accordingly, Al-Taawoun FC strongly demands a comprehensive and immediate review of the refereeing performance in the club’s matches, and clear and transparent accountability for anyone proven negligent or having a negative impact on the course of the competition, while taking practical steps to raise the quality of refereeing in proportion to the league’s status and technical value. In conclusion, we affirm our legitimate right to demand fair competition and our confidence that the competent authorities will address what has been monitored in a manner that preserves the club’s rights.
