Saudi Arabia and Palestine head into the longest clash of the 2025 Arab Cup quarter-finals after a 1–1 draw
The match between the Saudi national team and the Palestinian national team in the semi-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup ended in a 1–1 draw on Thursday evening at Lusail International Stadium, sending the encounter into extra time. This marks the longest matchup in the tournament’s quarter-final stage.
The Saudi team managed to level the score after Palestine had taken the lead. Firas Al-Buraikan capitalized on a poorly handled ball inside the Saudi penalty area in the 58th minute to earn Saudi Arabia their first goal. Less than seven minutes later, specifically in the 64th minute, Oday Dabbagh scored the equalizer for Yasser Al-Ramahi’s men.
The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw on Thursday evening in the semi-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup, as neither team managed to score.
Saudi Arabia reached the semi-finals as runners-up of Group B. The team achieved strong results in the group stage, defeating Comoros and Oman before losing to Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian team defeated the same side that had beaten Saudi Arabia, securing second place in Group A. They collected enough points to advance to the semi-finals after their final group match ended in a draw with Syria, following another draw with Tunisia and a win over Qatar.
