The Public Transport Authority (PTA) announced the arrest of 1396 individuals during the period from December 6 to 12, 2025, for engaging in the activity of passenger transport without obtaining a license (“Al-Kaddada”).

The Authority stated, in a press release, that among the violations were 634 individuals committing preparatory violations (“Al-Munadah” or soliciting passengers), and 762 individuals engaging in transport activity without obtaining a prior license.

It explained that the new Road Transport System, issued by Royal Decree No. M/188 dated 24/08/1446 AH, prohibits any person from engaging in any road transport activities without obtaining a license, including soliciting passengers, pursuing or obstructing them, or circulating in their locations for the purpose of inviting them.

The supervisory campaigns launched by the Authority work to ensure that all carriers comply with the regulations and requirements in force, while encouraging the public to deal with reliable and legally registered carriers, with the aim of raising the level of quality of the services provided.
