Syrian Sources: Prior warnings of an “ISIS” attack in the desert were not taken into consideration

The spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Nour El-Din Al-Baba, confirmed that the Syrian Interior Ministry had issued prior warnings to the international coalition forces about the possibility of an attack by the “ISIS” organization, but these warnings were not considered.

Al-Baba stated in remarks to Al-Ikhbariya channel today, Saturday, that “There were prior warnings from the Internal Security Command to the partner forces in the desert region about the possibility of a breach or expected attacks by ISIS, and the international coalition forces did not take the Syrian warnings into consideration.”

Al-Baba added that “at the gate of one of the headquarters in the Palmyra desert, an element belonging to ISIS opened fire, and there was a tour between the International Coalition Command in Syria and the Internal Security Command in the desert during the shooting.”

He pointed out that “it will be confirmed whether this element is linked to the ISIS organization or if he carries the organization’s ideology itself.”
