Australia imposes a ban on social media use for those under 16
The Australian government announced its decision to impose a complete ban on the use of social media networks for all children and adolescents under the age of 16.
The government said the goal of this measure is to protect children from becoming victims of cyberbullying, limit their exposure to harmful content, and prevent them from being exposed to the risk of online predators.
The BBC reported that residents of Toronto and Washington D.C. in Canada and the United States questioned the feasibility of enacting such a ban in their countries.
