The Special Forces for Environmental Security announced the apprehension of a citizen in the Hail region for violating environmental regulations. The individual failed to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation by lighting a fire in a non-designated location.
In accordance with legal protocols, necessary measures were taken against the detainee to demonstrate the authorities’ commitment to environmental preservation and the necessity of citizen adherence to environmental safety rules.
It is noted that the penalty for lighting fires outside designated areas in forests and national parks can reach a fine of up to 3,000 Saudi Riyals.
The competent authority urged the public to report any cases of environmental or wildlife violations by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or via (999) and (996) in other regions of the Kingdom. The concerned authority emphasized that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and without any liability for the reporter.
