Dubai, United Arab Emirates (United News Network – UNN) – In the shadows of an ancient castle dating back centuries in the city of Şanlıurfa, located in southeastern Turkey, black-spotted golden carp rest in turquoise blue water pools.
Şanlıurfa is located about 64 kilometers north of the Syrian border. The city is famous for being part of Upper Mesopotamia and home to several civilizations throughout history.
The city was known as “Urhay” by the Aramean tribal confederation, while the Seleucid dynasty, which ruled between 312 and 64 BC, named it “Edessa.”
