Plane Carrying Libyan Chief of Staff Crashes in Ankara

Sky News Arabia reported the crash of a Falcon 50 aircraft carrying Mohammed Al-Haddad, the Chief of Staff of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh’s Libyan government, on Tuesday evening in Ankara.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the loss of contact with a plane carrying Dbeibeh’s government Chief of Staff and four other individuals. He stated on his “X” account: “The plane was heading from Ankara to Tripoli and requested an emergency landing in the Ankara region, but contact was lost thereafter.”

Libyan media revealed that Dbeibeh has formed a crisis cell to communicate with the Turkish side regarding the incident. Meanwhile, Turkish media indicated that Al-Haddad’s plane went down while en route from Ankara to Tripoli, and the fate of its passengers remains unknown.
