A video clip has circulated across social media platforms showing football player João Cancelo, who previously played for Barcelona and Manchester City, assaulting a passenger on board a flight.
Specifically, the Catalan newspaper “Sport” reported that the Portuguese full-back, who aspires to return to Europe and hints at seeking new experiences, completely lost his temper during his flight.
The spread of a leaked video accelerated, showing the moment Cancelo lost self-control, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical assault on the passenger who was filming him.
The newspaper quoted sources saying that the intense verbal argument lasted for a few moments before Cancelo grabbed the passenger’s arm and slapped him, at which point the filming stopped.
Social media users criticized Cancelo’s disgraceful behavior, considering it an unjustified loss of self-control.
However, a longer video clip shows Cancelo joking with the person filming him at first. According to those who shared the clip, the Portuguese player was mocking his Al-Hilal teammate, Ali Al-Bulayhi.
Despite this, the video spread rapidly and drew sharp criticism toward Cancelo for his behavior, which undoubtedly tarnishes his public image.
