A goalless draw overshadowed the confrontation between the national teams of Zambia and Comoros within the Group A competitions.
This draw marks the second for the Zambian national team, raising its tally to two points, while the Comoros national team earned its first point in the tournament after losing in the previous round to Morocco.
The Zambian national team faces a challenging task against the Moroccan national team, the “Atlas Lions,” the host and home crowd favorites, in the third and final round next Monday, while the Comoros national team will play its match against Mali.
The goalless draw is the first in the tournament since the start of the current edition.
Two matches will be played later today, the first between Morocco and Mali in the same group; the “Atlas Lions” opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Comoros, while the Malian players achieved a 1-1 draw in the Zambia match.
The first and second-place finishers from the six groups in the tournament, in addition to the four best third-place teams, qualify for the Round of 16.
