Execution of Death Sentence (Ta’zir) Carried Out Against a Drug Trafficker in Medina
The Ministry of Interior issued a statement today regarding the execution of the death sentence (Ta’zir) against a perpetrator in the Medina region. The following is the text of the statement:
Allah the Almighty said: “And do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order,” and He said: “And seek not corruption in the earth; lo! Allah loveth not corrupters,” and He said: “And Allah loveth not corruption,” and He said: “The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and spread mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the H1ereafter.”
Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Ali Qahaisan — a Saudi national — committed the act of trafficking hashish for the second time via transportation. By the grace of Allah, the security authorities managed to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator. The investigation resulted in charging him with the crime, and upon referring him to the competent court, a verdict was issued proving the charges against him and sentencing him to death (Ta’zir). The judgment became final after being appealed and subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court. A Royal Order was issued to execute what was religiously decided.
The death sentence (Ta’zir) was carried out against the perpetrator / Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Ali Qahaisan — a Saudi national — on Wednesday, 4/7/1447 AH, corresponding to 12/24/2025 AD, in the Medina region.
The Ministry of Interior, in announcing this, reaffirms the keenness of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect the security of citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and to inflict the harshest penalties prescribed by the law against smugglers and traffickers, due to the loss of innocent lives, the grave corruption caused to youth, individuals, and society, and the violation of their rights. At the same time, it warns anyone who attempts such acts that the prescribed legal punishment will be their fate.
