## Meeting Between Saudi and Moroccan Energy Ministers Leads to Signing of Executive Program for Renewable Energy Cooperation
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held an important meeting in Riyadh with Dr. Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the meeting, they reviewed topics of common interest between the two countries, focusing on enhancing investment opportunities and cooperation in fields related to renewable energy and energy efficiency.
During the meeting, the two sides reached a landmark agreement represented by the signing of a specific executive program for cooperation in the field of renewable energy. This program will enable companies to implement renewable projects between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco.
This program comes within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding established between the two sides in the field of energy since May 2022.
The executive program aims to strengthen the strong partnership between the two countries, increase mutual investments, and develop cooperation in renewable energy projects—not only in both countries but in other nations as well. It will also enable national companies to collaborate effectively in implementing projects related to renewable energy and energy storage systems, in addition to connecting renewable energy sources to the main electrical grid, developing power transmission lines, and enhancing grid stability.
The new program includes important aspects such as the use of renewable energy sources in development projects and vital infrastructure, and the establishment of new projects that rely entirely on these sources. The program also includes the creation and development of innovative research and development centers, the preservation of renewable energy technologies, and support for training programs and specialized capacity building, in order to support sustainability and achieve effective knowledge transfer between the two sides.
