Financial Times: Zelenskyy’s hopes for US support are faltering

1 Min Read

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy failed to obtain a show of support from President Donald Trump at the beginning of their meeting at Mar-a-Lago, according to a report by “NBC”.

Trump Returns to a Neutral Stance

The report, published by the British newspaper, pointed to Trump’s return to showcasing his neutral stance regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier on Sunday, Trump met Zelenskyy at the main entrance of the Mar-a-Lago resort. This is the fourth meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, and the first in the state of Florida. The American President promised that the talks would be held in the main dining room of his Mar-a-Lago resort.

This meeting is considered the fourth between the former U.S. President and the leader of Ukraine. The first meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy in February 2025 ended in a scandal, during which Zelenskyy and the other Ukrainian guests were accused of being ungrateful and were expelled from the White House. The next meeting took place in September in New York. As for the third meeting, it was held at the White House in October, but Trump refused to issue a joint statement. Zelenskyy was forced to address the press from behind the White House fence.
