Harry Brook and Brydon Carse appear with Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2026: Daniel Vettori succeeds Andrew Flintoff as coach

Sunrisers Leeds have continued to include England players Harry Brook and Brydon Carse for the upcoming 2026 edition of The Hundred, with Daniel Vettori appointed as the club’s new head coach for the men’s tournament.

Brook and Carse, multi-format players, have been with the team since the tournament’s inaugural season in 2021, previously known as Northern Superchargers until the recent acquisition.

Last year, Sun Group, owner of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the Indian Premier League, paid just over £100 million to own 100% of the shares in the team based at Headingley in Yorkshire.

Brook (26) and Carse (30) were part of England’s recent Ashes campaign and will be in England’s provisional squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The squad’s vice-captain and batting star Brook faced criticism for his off-field behavior before and during the Ashes, which Australia won 4-1.

Brook scored in nine of the matches in the 2025 edition of The Hundred, recording 227 runs at an average of 37.83, and it is reported that he will earn approximately £500,000 as his share with Sunrisers.

Fast bowler Carse did not appear at all in last year’s competition after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) rested him to manage his workload.

This year’s summer edition of The Hundred will run from July 21 to August 16, taking place in the gap between England’s white-ball series against India and the Test series against Pakistan.

Sunrisers Leeds also announced the signing of all-rounder Mitch Marsh and bowler Nathan Ellis as direct signings, with the experienced Australian duo available for the entire tournament.

Teams in The Hundred are allowed up to four direct signings before the auction, with the first auction date set for March.

Former New Zealand international Vettori, 46, will take over coaching responsibilities for the men’s team from former England player Andrew Flintoff.

Flintoff, 48, was in charge of the Superchargers last season but said he was “worth more” than what Sunrisers offered him.

Vettori has been the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL since 2023.

Vettori said: “I look forward to the upcoming season with Sunrisers and hope the Orange Army gathers in the stands.”
