Protests in Tehran demand return to Shah’s rule, reports of fire in a mosque

Social media footage verified by Reuters on Saturday showed protesters gathered in Tehran’s Punak Square as fireworks exploded and chants of “Long live the Shah!” could be heard.

The pro-reform news site IranWire published a video showing protesters marching through the streets of Tehran on Saturday night chanting “Death to the dictator” and “Long live the Shah.”

In a related context, other social media footage from Friday, verified by Reuters, showed the Al-Rasul Mosque in the capital, Tehran, on fire, while people in the video could be heard saying: “Saadat Abad…”.
