The “This is Jazan” zone, held as part of the Jazan Festival 2026 on the waterfront, has opened its doors to visitors, offering a rich tourism experience that showcases the region’s history and present, and a comprehensive depiction of the material and cultural civilization of the people of Jazan. The festival highlights how the diversity of environments—between the coast, the mountains, and the plains—has shaped a unique lifestyle and turned into a source of inspiration for artistic creativity and cultural expression across generations.

Through the festival, the region’s sixteen governorates are present to provide visitors with diverse tourism stops that highlight their heritage and cultural depth, reflecting their rapid developmental movement, in addition to their rich folk heritage and authentic customs and traditions. A selection of folk arts for which the region is famous, such as the sword dance, Al-Ghazwi, and Al-Ma’asha, will be showcased in live performances that add a vibrant interactive character to the tourism experience.

During an integrated journey of discovery, the visitor will be introduced to the cultural, human, and social legacy of each governorate in the region through the display of heritage collectibles and handicrafts, the most famous of which are the manufacture of ancient agricultural tools, daggers, the making of “al-sahaf” (bowls) used for drinking, pottery, wicker products, honey and ghee production, and the aromatic necklaces that distinguish the mountainous governorates, along with the popular dishes each governorate is known for. These details will serve as tourism attractions reflecting the authenticity and diversity of the place.

The festival demonstrates the unique ability of the region’s governorates to provide integrated tourism and heritage experiences that highlight the richness of the maritime, cultural, and environmental heritage, giving visitors the opportunity for direct interaction with the region’s authentic components. The visit transforms into a high-level, renewed educational tourism experience that touches the memory and soul of the place.

The Jazan Festival 2026 continues until the fifteenth of February, offering a diverse package of tourism, entertainment, cultural, and folk events distributed across Jazan city and the various governorates of the region, with ongoing programs at tourist sites, parks, and beaches to enhance Jazan’s presence as an integrated tourism destination.
