Mohamed Kanno, a first-team football player for Al-Hilal, confirmed that his team’s match against Al-Khaleej was not easy, especially in the second half, stressing that the most important thing was securing the three points.
The Al-Hilal midfielder’s remarks came during an interview with “Thamania” channels, the exclusive broadcaster of the Saudi League, following his team’s 3-2 victory over Al-Khaleej in the match held Friday evening at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, as part of the 11th round of the Saudi Roshn Professional League.
“The match was difficult, especially in the second half, but thank God, the most important thing is that we achieved the three points,” Kanno said. “Matches that come after break periods are always difficult.”
He added: “Al-Hilal is always ready and does not depend on anyone, whether there are absences or not; this is the nature of Al-Hilal. God willing, the injured players will return as soon as possible, and we will continue these victories, by God’s will.”
Touching on some details of the match, Kanno explained that the team lost focus for short periods in the final minutes, stating: “The tactics were good in the last ten minutes. True, we lost focus a little, and some substitutions need time for the player to get into the atmosphere of the match, but thank God, the most important thing is the win and the three points.”
Regarding his goal-scoring for both Al-Hilal and the national team, Kanno expressed his happiness, emphasizing that his mother’s prayers were the reason for his success: “Thank God, it is the prayer of my mother, may God preserve her for me; she deserves these goals. God willing, the coming days will be more beautiful with more goals, by God’s will.”
With this victory, Al-Hilal raised its tally to 26 points in second place, while Al-Khaleej’s tally froze at 14 points in eighth place.
