King Abdulaziz International Airport achieved a new historical milestone, after the number of passengers reached $50 \text{ million}$ in 2025, making it the highest number ever recorded by a Saudi airport since the beginning of air traffic in the Kingdom. The airport also entered the list of Mega Airports, which includes the world’s largest airports by passenger volume.
This achievement is an expression of the qualitative transformation witnessed by King Abdulaziz International Airport and its growing status as a regional hub and a national gateway connecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the world. It underscores its vital role in enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a global tourist destination and a gateway to the Two Holy Mosques, by facilitating the movement of visitors, Umrah performers, and pilgrims, and supporting tourism in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in diversifying the economy and providing the best travel experience.
In a related context, Jeddah Airports Company celebrated yesterday the arrival of the $50 \text{ millionth}$ passenger at King Abdulaziz Airport. The passenger was a French girl named [Passenger’s name content unavailable], arriving from the French capital Paris aboard a Saudi Airlines flight, to participate in one of the sports tournaments hosted by the city of Jeddah. The passenger was received by the leadership of Jeddah Airports Company, who welcomed her and presented her with a commemorative gift for this historic occasion.
The CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, Engineer Mazen Johar, explained that reaching $50 \text{ million}$ passengers confirms the high operational readiness of the airport, and is a pivotal station for transitioning to the next phase, in preparation for doubling this number in the coming years, God willing.
Engineer Mazen Johar affirmed that this national achievement would not have happened without the grace of God Almighty, followed by the directives of the wise leadership, the continuous follow-up from the Emirate of Makkah region, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, His Excellency the CEO of Airports Holding Company, and all partners in success who are keen to provide qualitative services to all passengers and visitors.
Engineer Mazen Johar noted that King Abdulaziz International Airport is strengthening its position as a major aviation hub in the region through continuous efforts to expand, increase capacity, and improve and develop services, in a way that supports the future growth of the airport and aligns with future plans.
