Ethiopian Culture Days launch in Riyadh as part of the “Global Harmony 2” initiative
The Ministry of Information today inaugurated the Ethiopian Culture Days as part of the “Global Harmony 2” initiative, organized in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority, at Al-Suwaidi Park, one of Riyadh Season’s zones, with visitors from various nationalities in attendance.
The events began at 4 p.m. with a parade featuring the participating Ethiopian troupes, who presented a variety of traditional dances representing the diverse regions and cultures of Ethiopia, receiving enthusiastic interaction from the audience. The event will run for three days.
The program includes musical performances, folk shows, cultural pavilions, and entertainment activities, with the participation of prominent artists, influencers, and around 50 performers and stage entertainers.
Ethiopian residents also took part by performing various dances in the event square, accompanied by traditional instruments and folk drums. The first day showcased examples of handicrafts, paintings, traditional clothing, and popular foods, in addition to demonstrations of daily hospitality rituals such as the traditional coffee ceremony “Jebena.”
In the evening, performances on the main stage began with first-day artists presenting a rich selection of folk and national songs, along with well-known pieces that received wide audience engagement.
Ethiopian Culture Days will continue tomorrow with a full program that includes new musical and folk performances, diverse heritage shows, and interactive pavilions that allow visitors to explore Ethiopia’s cultural identity and its historical development.
