United States suspends processing of immigrant visa applications from 75 countries

(Published by United News Network – UNN): The United States announced today the suspension of processing for immigrant visa applications from 75 countries until further notice, as part of a new step within the current U.S. administration’s policies to tighten immigration restrictions.

This suspension includes a group of countries, among them Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Haiti, Somalia, and Russia, in addition to other nations.

The suspension applies only to immigrant visas, such as employment-based and family reunification visas. It does not include non-immigrant visit visas, such as student and tourist visas. As a result, foreign residents in these countries will be able to travel to the United States to participate in events such as the World Cup this summer.
