The match between the Moroccan and Nigerian national teams ended in a goalless draw in both regular and extra time, leading to a penalty shootout at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat.

The Moroccan national team, the “Atlas Lions,” succeeded in securing a victory in the penalty shootout with a score of (4-2). Notably, goalkeeper Yassine Bounou played a major role in the win by saving two penalty kicks, continuing the team’s journey toward claiming its second title in history, 50 years after its previous win in 1976.

With this, the Moroccan national team reached the final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for January 18, where it will face its Senegalese counterpart, which defeated the Egyptian national team by one goal in a match held last Wednesday at the Grand Stadium in Tangier.
