Roads Authority CEO Inspects Projects in Riyadh and Qassim
His Excellency the CEO of the General Authority for Roads, Eng. Badr bin Abdullah Al-Dulami, today inspected a number of ongoing road projects in the Riyadh and Qassim regions. His Excellency examined the execution quality of the road projects as part of the follow-up on field work progress.
Accompanied during the inspection tour by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services for Road Operation and Maintenance, Eng. Tariq Al-Shami, the tour included overseeing the quality of technical specification implementation, as well as identifying the needs of existing roads, necessary maintenance plans, and discussing ways to address challenges facing the road sector.
This tour was organized as part of the continuous efforts made by the General Authority for Roads to improve the quality of the road network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, raise its efficiency, and ensure the safety of its users, in order to achieve a safe and distinctive travel experience for all citizens and residents.
The General Authority for Roads highlighted its keenness to enhance its role as the regulatory and supervisory body for the road sector in the Kingdom, striving to achieve the objectives of the Road Sector Program. Safety and quality are key pillars of this program. The Authority implements this by applying international best practices to raise the road quality index in the Kingdom to the sixth level globally and reduce the mortality rate to less than 5 cases per 100,000 people by 2030.
The Authority noted that all roads in the Kingdom are subject to periodic review and evaluation processes to determine maintenance and development priorities, emphasizing its commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and traffic safety to ensure the achievement of the sector’s goals and enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading global logistics destination.
