Russian Chumakov wins World Boxing gold in Dubai.

The Russian boxer Chumakov achieved a remarkable victory in the final bout, with a split decision from the judging panel, to overcome the 2024 Olympic Champion Abdulmalik Khalokov from Uzbekistan.

With this crowning achievement, Chumakov adds a prominent international accomplishment to his growing professional record.

The 24-year-old Chumakov is considered one of the most prominent names in Russian boxing, having previously won the European Championship in Belgrade in 2024 and securing the bronze medal at the World Championship in Tashkent in 2023.

In a related context, the Russian Andrey Peglevanyan won the bronze medal in the under-57 kg weight class competitions, while Edmond Khudoian (under 48 kg), Bayr Batlaev (51 kg), and Vyacheslav Rogozin (54 kg) all won silver medals.

Additionally, eight other Russian boxers are expected to compete in final matches across various weight categories.

It is worth noting that Russian athletes are participating in this championship under their country’s flag and national anthem.

On another note, the prize money for the championship totals $8.32 million USD.
