Gabonese Referee to Officiate Egypt vs. Senegal Match in Africa Cup of Nations; Lineups and Broadcasting Channels Revealed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Referees Committee has assigned 33-year-old Gabonese referee Pierre Atcho to officiate the semi-final match between Egypt and Senegal in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Referee Pierre Atcho is scheduled to blow the starting whistle at the Grand Stade de Tanger at 18:00 local time in Morocco (19:00 Cairo time).

The Egyptian national team secured the top spot in Group D after defeating Ivory Coast 3-1 in their final group stage match held last Saturday at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir.

In contrast, the Senegalese national team claimed the top spot in Group C at the expense of Guinea, after winning their final match 2-0.

The Egyptian national team’s technical director, Hossam Hassan (59 years old), will start the match against the “Teranga Lions” with a starting lineup consisting of:

  • Goalkeeper: Mohamed El Shenawy.

  • Defense: Mohamed Hany, Rami Rabia, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Fatouh.

  • Midfield: Marwan Ateya, Hamdy Fathy, Emam Ashour.

  • Forward: Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush.

On the other hand, the Senegalese national team’s technical director, Pape Thiaw (44 years old), chose the following starting lineup to face the “Pharaohs”:

  • Goalkeeper: Edouard Mendy.

  • Defense: Krepin Diatta, Kalidou Koulibaly, Moussa Niakhate, El Hadji Malick Diouf.

  • Midfield: Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye, Habib Diarra.

  • Forward: Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson, Iliman Ndiaye.
