Saudi Arabia joins the British Rail Safety and Standards Board
The Saudi Railways Company (SAR) announced its official membership in the British Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), known as the international reference body for developing railway safety and operational standards globally.
SAR’s official spokesman, Khalid Al-Farhan, pointed out that this joining allows Saudi Arabia to address operational challenges and exchange expertise with global rail operators.
Al-Farhan explained, during a televised interview with Al Ekhbariya channel, that joining the Safety and Standards Board enhances SAR’s capabilities in risk management and raises the level of daily reliability of the rail network during its operational journeys.
He also stressed that participation in international initiatives through this board will contribute to improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries and raising safety readiness in the national transport system.
This accession is a qualitative step that solidifies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s position in leading the rail sector and increases the efficiency and reliability of the national transport system.
