Riyadh – United News Network – UNN: Saudi Arabia confirmed that the military movements carried out by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the Yemeni governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahrah were conducted unilaterally, without any coordination with the Coalition leadership or the approval of the Presidential Leadership Council, leading to an unjustified escalation in the region.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated, in a statement, that it “has been keen throughout the past period to focus on the unity of ranks and to exert all efforts to reach peaceful solutions that address the situation in the two governorates and enhance their stability.”
The statement explained that “Saudi Arabia worked, in this context, with the United Arab Emirates, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the Yemeni government to contain the situation, by sending a joint military team from Saudi Arabia and the UAE to make the necessary arrangements with the Southern Transitional Council in Aden, aiming to ensure the return of police forces to perform their duties in the two governorates.”
