Syrian Ministry of Defense extends ceasefire with “SDF” for 15 days to support the transfer of “ISIS” detainees
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday the extension of the existing ceasefire between the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for an additional 15 days.
This extension comes as U.S.-led forces conduct an evacuation of prisons managed by the SDF, resulting in the transfer of “ISIS” detainees to Iraq, according to a statement issued by the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry confirmed in its statement, published by the Syrian “Sona” agency on Saturday, that “the extension of the ceasefire comes in support of the ongoing American operation to evacuate ISIS prisoners from SDF prisons to Iraq.”
This point was emphasized in the Ministry’s official statement.
