The ground of the “Saudi Jumping” arena overcomes rainfall thanks to advanced technologies.

The ground of the “Saudi Jumping” arena in the Janadriyah activities was not affected by the heavy rainy conditions witnessed in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, thanks to the modern technologies used and the quality of the soil with which the main arena and warm-up areas were prepared.

The competitions of the second and final week of the fifth edition of the “Saudi Jumping” show jumping championship kicked off this Thursday. Organized by the Saudi Equestrian Federation at the “Saudi Jumping” headquarters in Janadriyah, under the generous directives of the leadership, the event features prize money exceeding 5 million riyals and the participation of 193 male and female riders from 19 countries.

The second week’s competitions include 18 rounds for the two-star and five-star categories over three days, featuring a qualifying round for the 2026 FEI Show Jumping and Dressage World Cup finals in Texas, USA, including 7 rounds held on the first day.

The arena ground features advanced technical specifications that make it among the best globally in equestrian sports, most notably the sub-soil water drainage system designed in a sophisticated manner beneath the sand layers, which prevents water accumulation on the surface and maintains the continuity of competitions even during rainfall.

The soil consists of a precise mixture of imported materials (special sand and fiber) in specific proportions, which prevents the ground from turning into mud and allows water to pass vertically toward the drainage layers at high speed.

The ground was approved by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) after testing its ability to withstand various climatic conditions, including heavy rain, and receiving the highest ratings in drainage efficiency. Thanks to these technologies, the arena has hosted international championships in previous editions despite heavy rain in Riyadh, without affecting the quality of jumping or the safety of the horses.
