The official news agency announced a noticeable increase in American importers’ demand for Russian buckwheat in early autumn, with the value of orders reaching $208 thousand compared to $121.6 thousand last August. Figures also indicated a 4.8% increase in the volume of Russian shipments during September on an annual basis.
Over the first nine months of the current year, the value of transactions between the United States and Russia in the field of buckwheat exceeded $1.5 million, while the value during the same period last year was $1.6 million.
Despite this, Russia reached its position as the largest supplier of buckwheat to the American market. Canada ranked second among the countries exporting this product, with a value of $1.4 million, while Ukraine ranked third with a lower percentage, with its sales reaching $143.6 thousand.
