📰 The White House Explains Why Bandages Appeared on Trump’s Hand

The White House on Thursday sought once again to justify the presence of bandages on President Donald Trump’s right hand for several days, attributing it to his frequent handshaking.

Responding to a question about the recently noticed bandages, Presidential Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said, “We’ve already given you an explanation for that.”

Leavitt added, “The president is constantly shaking hands with people,” using the explanation provided a few months ago when the former US President was seen with a swollen right hand.

The spokeswoman also noted that the “president takes aspirin daily” as a preventive cardiovascular treatment, stressing that this “may contribute to the appearance of these bruises you are seeing.”

The White House had also offered this explanation before the bandages, which the 79-year-old Trump wore, were seen, for example, last Sunday during a ceremony in Washington.

The former president’s health status is a sensitive issue for Trump, who is the oldest elected president in the United States’ history.

Trump accuses his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden of suffering from dementia and thus being unfit to govern.

On Tuesday evening, in an angry post on his social media platform “Truth Social,” Trump described media reports that raised questions about his health as “incendiary, and possibly treasonous.”

Trump’s health came under scrutiny after he appeared to struggle to stay alert at a series of events, in addition to undergoing an MRI scan as part of additional medical examinations in October.
