2025 Football Top Scorers: Mbappé Leads with 66 Goals
Frenchman Kylian Mbappé topped the list of leading football strikers in 2025, after recording 66 goals across various competitions. Mbappé, currently a Real Madrid striker, achieved the majority of his goals (59) with the Spanish club, while contributing 7 goals for the French national team.
Ranking second on the 2025 scoring leaders list is Bayern Munich’s English striker Harry Kane, with 60 goals. Most of his goals (51) came in the Bavarian jersey, while he scored 9 goals for the English national team, the “Three Lions.”
Meanwhile, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City secured a spot on the same list with 57 goals, after scoring 40 goals for his club and 17 goals for his national team.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray, who is currently leading the Nigerian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025,” ranked fourth with 46 goals. Osimhen participated in Nigeria’s 3-2 victory over Tunisia last Saturday, scoring for his team to bring his total goals this year with the “Super Eagles” to nine, compared to 37 goals in the Galatasaray jersey. Argentine star Lionel Messi, the champion of American club Inter Miami, also reached 46 goals, after scoring only 3 goals for his national team “La Albiceleste” and 43 goals for his team Inter Miami, the MLS champions.
Osimhen’s Nigeria will face Uganda next Tuesday in a match concluding the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
It is noteworthy that Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, has scored 40 goals in the current year 2025, with a chance to increase his goal tally when he faces Al-Ettifaq next Tuesday in the Saudi “Roshen” Professional Football League.
