Trump announces ongoing work on the Greenland structure which will be special for the United States
“On the way back to Washington, D.C. It was a great time in Davos. Work is now underway on the Greenland structure, and it will be amazing for the United States of America.”
Trump added in a post on his “Truth Social” platform: “The Peace Council is something the world has never seen before, and it is very special. Many good things are happening.”
The U.S. President previously stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos that he does not envision a scenario where the United States would go to war with Denmark, a NATO member, over Greenland. He also noted that a long-term agreement regarding Greenland is currently under discussion.
Trump announced the formation of a framework for a future agreement regarding Greenland and the Arctic region, following a meeting he described as “very productive” with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. Trump emphasized that this agreement, if completed, would be a unique solution for the United States and all alliance nations.
Additionally, Trump suggested that the expected tariffs for February 1st might not be imposed, noting that there are further discussions regarding the “Golden Dome” project related to Greenland. He clarified that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will lead the negotiations.
