Trump reveals details of Maduro’s arrest in “decisive moments”

President Donald Trump revealed precise details of the final moments preceding the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, describing them as “decisive moments.”

During a press conference held Saturday evening from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump said: “Maduro tried to get to the bunker, but he couldn’t get to the door. It took us only 47 seconds to blow the door and burst into the room.” He added: “He was taken with almost no resistance… he was terrified,” according to his statement.

At the same conference, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kane, provided a detailed military account of the operation, confirming that “U.S. units attacked the air defense systems of the Venezuelan Special Forces, enabling elite force helicopters to safely reach Maduro’s residence in Caracas.”

Kane explained that “joint air forces destroyed and disabled Venezuelan radar and air defense systems before the raid began,” noting that “our goal was to ensure safe passage for Delta Force helicopters and return all soldiers safely,” which was indeed achieved.

Kane announced that “Maduro and his wife surrendered, and our forces handed them over to the U.S. Department of Justice, with the assistance of the military,” confirming that the arrest was carried out according to legal procedures in preparation for their trial in the United States.
