United States awaits announcements regarding the “Muslim Brotherhood” next week
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that the United States will likely issue some announcements regarding the “Muslim Brotherhood” group next week.
Responding to a question from the Israeli channel “i24NEWS,” Marco Rubio indicated that he expects announcements next week related to the executive order issued by President Donald Trump regarding the Muslim Brotherhood.
Trump had issued the order on November 24, directing an assessment regarding the designation of certain branches of the “Muslim Brotherhood” as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
The executive order directed both Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to consult with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and to submit a report within 30 days.
Such a designation would criminalize providing support to the group, impose economic sanctions, and prohibit its members from entering the United States.
