Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Social media users have been circulating a video clip claiming that Syrian government forces managed to re-arrest members of ISIS who had escaped from prisons formerly under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The visual clip shows footage of several individuals, stripped of their upper clothing, moving slowly alongside trucks that were supposedly transporting them. The description accompanying the clip raises questions, stating: “Scenes of the arrested ISIS mercenaries who were re-captured by our forces.”
An investigation conducted by the CNN Arabic team confirms that the narrative provided in this description may be misleading.
