Four Astronauts Leave International Space Council Prematurely Due to a Health Issue “That Became Serious”
Four astronauts have returned to Earth after evacuating the International Space Station (ISS), ending their time in space a month earlier than scheduled as a result of a “critical health issue.”
The four astronauts arrived at the ISS on August 1st, expecting to complete their regular six-and-a-half-month mission.
However, last week, a scheduled spacewalk for the astronauts was canceled at the last minute. A few hours later, NASA revealed that one of the crew members had fallen ill.
This marks the first time astronauts have departed the space station for a health reason since its launch into Earth’s orbit in 1998.
