Continuous escalation on the northern border, drones breach Israeli airspace, and evacuation warnings in southern Lebanon<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Israeli army announced the detection of the fall and explosion of two drones after they penetrated the airspace over the Western Galilee region, confirming that no injuries resulted from the incident. In this context, an Al Arabiya\/Al Hadath correspondent reported on Sunday that sirens sounded in northern Israel after suspicions of drone infiltration believed to be linked to Hezbollah, prompting authorities to raise alert levels in several border areas.<\/p>\n

Israeli sources revealed that the drones were launched from Lebanese territory and were targeting Israeli military sites near the Ras al-Naqoura border area, according to Israeli radio. The sources also indicated that four Hezbollah drones had managed to strike targets inside Israel over the past two days, reflecting ongoing field tensions between both sides.<\/p>\n

On his part, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir escalated his rhetoric, stating that \u201csouthern Beirut must shake in response to every rocket or drone launch from Lebanon,\u201d in reference to the need for a strong response to any attacks targeting Israeli territory.<\/p>\n

Negotiations continue despite escalation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This development comes as Israeli airstrikes continue in southern Lebanon, despite four rounds of negotiations held in Washington between Israeli and Lebanese delegations aimed at containing the escalation and discussing new security arrangements along the border.<\/p>\n

It also coincides with anticipation of a prospective memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, expected to be signed \u201cremotely\u201d on Sunday, aimed at ending the war that broke out on February 28 following joint American-Israeli attacks on Tehran.<\/p>\n

During the past period, Iran insisted on including the Lebanese file in any comprehensive agreement or settlement to end the war, while Israel rejected this proposal, stressing the need to separate the Iranian and Lebanese tracks and not link them together.<\/p>\n

The Israeli government has repeatedly stated that any targeting of northern settlements will be met with a direct and powerful military response that could reach Beirut.<\/p>\n

The war in Lebanon broke out on March 2 following Hezbollah rocket fire toward northern Israel, in response to the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during the first American-Israeli strikes on Tehran on February 28.<\/p>\n

Israel responded with a large-scale military campaign that included intensive airstrikes and ground operations inside Lebanese territory, killing 3,756 people and enabling Israeli forces to seize large areas in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Despite a ceasefire announced in April, followed by a renewed conditional truce last week after Lebanese-Israeli talks in Washington, field clashes have not fully stopped.<\/p>\n

Israeli warnings and displacement from the south<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Amid ongoing military operations, the Israeli army issued new warnings to residents of around 30 villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to evacuate their areas and move at least 1,000 meters toward open areas.<\/p>\n

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated in posts on X that Hezbollah had violated the ceasefire agreement, adding that the Israeli army continues to act forcefully against it. He also warned that being near Hezbollah members, facilities, or military equipment could expose civilians to danger.<\/p>\n

In contrast, displacement movements were reported from the southern village of Arab al-Jal, coinciding with clashes in the Ali al-Taher heights opposite the Shuqayf fortress overlooking the city of Nabatieh.<\/p>\n

Two Israeli airstrikes were also reported on the town of Al-Sharqiya, in addition to shelling that targeted the areas of Al-Rihan, Deir Qanoun, and the outskirts of Shehheen.<\/p>\n

Widespread airstrikes and mutual operations<\/strong><\/h3>\n

During the past few hours, southern Lebanon witnessed a series of extensive Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting areas in the districts of Nabatieh, Tyre, Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, Saida, and Jezzine, alongside intensive drone activity carrying out multiple strikes across various locations.<\/p>\n

In response, Hezbollah announced the execution of 22 military operations targeting Israeli positions, vehicles, and gatherings, using rockets and suicide drones, in addition to direct clashes on several southern fronts, reflecting continued confrontations despite political and diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis.<\/p>\n
