Explosions in Zaporizhzhia.. Russia announces interception of 200 Ukrainian drones<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Military confrontations between Russia and Ukraine continue at a high pace, amid an exchange of drone attacks and ongoing strikes targeting infrastructure across several areas. While the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia witnessed new explosions, Moscow announced the interception of hundreds of Ukrainian drones overnight, as Kyiv reported deaths and injuries resulting from Russian attacks targeting fuel stations and a civilian bus.<\/p>\n

Russian attacks on fuel stations leave casualties<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ukrainian media reported on Wednesday that explosions were heard in the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is under Kyiv\u2019s control, coinciding with the activation of air raid sirens in several parts of the region, as Russian air attacks on the southern front continue.<\/p>\n

In the same context, Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Hanza announced via Telegram that Russian forces carried out an overnight attack targeting five retail fuel stations in the region, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to three other people.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian official noted that attacks on fuel stations have become increasingly frequent in recent weeks, pointing out that authorities in the Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions have recorded near-daily attacks on such facilities, placing additional pressure on infrastructure and essential services.<\/p>\n

In the south of the country, Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin announced that a Russian drone targeted a passenger bus, killing two people and injuring five others in the latest attack targeting civilian transportation within the region.<\/p>\n

Moscow announces drone interceptions amid exchange of accusations<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted six drones heading toward the capital, Moscow, while also confirming the downing and interception of 179 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions, as well as over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, during the night.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the ministry said the interception operations took place between 9:00 p.m. on June 30 and 8:00 a.m. Moscow time on July 1. They covered the airspace over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Penza, Rostov, Saratov, Samara, Tver, and Ulyanovsk regions, in addition to the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, the Moscow region and its surrounding areas, the Republic of Crimea, as well as the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.<\/p>\n

For his part, Kherson regional governor Vladimir Saldo announced that air defense systems and mobile fire units repelled a new Ukrainian attack involving 35 attack drones overnight.<\/p>\n

Speaking via the “Max” application, Saldo said Russian forces had succeeded in shooting down all drones targeting the region, emphasizing that air defense units continue operating around the clock to protect civilians, vital infrastructure, and road networks from Ukrainian attacks.<\/p>\n

In another development, Donetsk mayor Alexei Kulemzin announced that Ukrainian forces targeted a public transport bus depot in the Kalininsky district with a drone, resulting in the destruction of five buses.<\/p>\n

He added that the city has been repeatedly subjected to attacks targeting civilian facilities, noting that the Horlivka area alone has recorded 14 attacks targeting buses since last April, as military escalation and exchanges of strikes continue along the front lines.<\/p>\n
