Israel’s Channel 12 reported that a Western intelligence agency warned the United States of an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump during his participation in the NATO Summit held in Turkey, highlighting the high level of security threats surrounding the president’s visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Media reports in recent days had suggested that Israel was the source of the intelligence shared with Washington regarding an alleged Iranian plan to target Trump. However, the Israeli broadcaster stated that the intelligence actually originated from an unnamed Western intelligence service, which detected the alleged Iranian activities and passed the information to U.S. authorities.<\/p>\n

According to the report, senior Iranian officials viewed Trump’s visit to Ankara last week as a “golden opportunity” to carry out an assassination attempt against the U.S. president. Washington reportedly received an early intelligence warning, prompting the implementation of a series of precautionary security measures to protect the visit.<\/p>\n

Heightened Security Measures for the U.S. President<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The report indicated that the intelligence warning was one of the main reasons behind the decision to abandon plans to use the new presidential aircraft assigned for Trump’s trip and instead return to the older presidential aircraft, Air Force One, in order to maximize security during the journey.<\/p>\n

According to the sources, the new aircraft Trump received from Qatar does not yet possess all of the defensive and operational capabilities available on the older presidential aircraft, making the latter the safer choice given the security environment surrounding the visit.<\/p>\n

The report also noted that Trump’s departure from Ankara involved unusual security procedures compared to previous presidential trips. He boarded the older aircraft quickly before the accompanying journalists arrived, preventing media from photographing him as he ascended the stairs, contrary to the standard protocol for such occasions.<\/p>\n

The sources added that security measures also included requiring all passengers to close the aircraft’s window shades before takeoff, a rare precaution reflecting the heightened level of security surrounding the flight.<\/p>\n
