Pakistan Reaffirms Its Defensive Role with Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister \u201cShehbaz Sharif\u201d pledged on Monday to continue working and coordinating with Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye, affirming his country\u2019s readiness to \u00abplay a constructive role in defending our country and the region\u00bb, as he put it. This came following the positive positions announced by U.S. President \u201cDonald Trump\u201d regarding the signing of the \u00abMecca Mutual Defense Agreement\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump\u201d welcomed on Sunday the signing of the agreement by Saudi Arabia, T\u00fcrkiye, and Pakistan, describing it as a \u00abbig, bold, and extremely important step\u00bb, referring to what it represents as a development in the course of defense cooperation among the three countries.<\/p>\n

The U.S. president said in a post on his platform \u00abTruth Social\u00bb that he was pleased with the three countries signing the agreement, considering that the \u00abMecca Mutual Defense Agreement\u00bb reflects the growing rapprochement among Middle Eastern countries and the region\u2019s move toward strengthening joint cooperation, enabling them to develop their ability to protect their security and defend themselves more effectively.<\/p>\n

In response, \u201cShehbaz Sharif\u201d expressed his appreciation for the U.S. position, stressing the importance of the support expressed by \u201cTrump\u201d for the agreement. He said in a post on his account on the \u00abX\u00bb platform: \u00abWe greatly appreciate the kind words of support expressed by President \u201cDonald Trump\u201d regarding the signing of the Mutual Defense Agreement for Makkah Al-Mukarramah\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani prime minister added that his country would continue, in cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, to play an active role in enhancing the security of the three countries and the region as a whole, saying: \u00abIn cooperation with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in ensuring the defense of our countries as well as the entire region\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Sharif Praises Trump\u2019s Role in South Asia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In a related context, \u201cSharif\u201d once again praised what he described as the U.S. president\u2019s decisive role in preventing a dangerous escalation in South Asia, considering that \u201cTrump\u2019s\u201d actions contributed to avoiding what he described as a \u00abnuclear catastrophe\u00bb and saving the lives of millions.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani prime minister stated: \u00abI would also like to once again commend President Trump for his courageous and decisive leadership, which helped avert a nuclear catastrophe in South Asia and saved the lives of millions\u00bb, adding that \u00ablasting peace is the most important essential condition for a bright and prosperous future for our peoples\u00bb.<\/p>\n

These statements come following the signing of the \u00abMecca Mutual Defense Agreement\u00bb in Makkah Al-Mukarramah between Saudi Arabia, T\u00fcrkiye, and Pakistan, in a step aimed at strengthening defense cooperation among the three countries and establishing a framework for collective deterrence, in a manner that supports security and stability at both the regional and international levels.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed during a summit that brought together Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince \u201cMohammed bin Salman\u201d, Turkish President \u201cRecep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan\u201d, and Pakistani Prime Minister \u201cMuhammad Shehbaz Sharif\u201d, where the leaders reviewed the nature of the relations between their countries and discussed a range of regional and international issues of common interest.<\/p>\n

In its broader context, the agreement reflects the three countries\u2019 efforts to expand areas of coordination and cooperation in defense and security matters, amid the rapid changes taking place in the region, while the U.S. welcome adds a political dimension to the agreement and underscores the growing interest in regional coordination on security and defense issues.<\/p>\n
