The Israeli military artillery shelled the central countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria on Sunday, in the latest escalation in the area.<\/p>\n
The Syrian state broadcaster \u201cAl-Ikhbariya\u201d reported that Israeli forces shelled the vicinity of the village of \u201cEastern Samadaniyah\u201d with an artillery shell in the central countryside of Quneitra.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Israeli military had launched an attack with seven artillery shells on the town of \u201cAl-Rafid\u201d in the Quneitra countryside, following incursions and search operations carried out by its forces on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
\u201cSyria TV\u201d reported that Israeli forces targeted the southern outskirts of \u201cAl-Rafid\u201d with seven artillery shells, followed by gunfire from \u201cTel al-Jalaa\u201d in the occupied Golan toward agricultural lands, noting that another Israeli patrol had also made an incursion into the village of \u201cUmm al-Batina\u201d in the central Quneitra countryside.<\/p>\n
It also indicated that Israeli forces fired over houses in the western neighborhood of the village of \u201cMaaria\u201d in the western Daraa countryside.<\/p>\n
In a related development, the \u201cSajel\u201d Human Rights Center documented 267 \u201cviolations\u201d committed by Israeli forces inside Syrian territory during August, bringing the total number of documented violations since the beginning of 2026 to 1,752 \u201cviolations.\u201d<\/p>\n
