North Korean leader \u201cKim Jong Un\u201d announced that arming his country\u2019s naval forces with nuclear weapons would move nuclear combat systems into the stage of practical use, in the latest statements by \u201cPyongyang\u201d regarding the development of its naval military capabilities.<\/p>\n
According to the Korean Central News Agency, \u201cKim\u201d said that the navy would be capable of deterring what he described as the \u201cinvading enemy fleet,\u201d stressing that a new warship could carry out \u201coverwhelming retaliatory strikes\u201d against adversaries at any time.<\/p>\n
He added that the new vessel reflects the scale of development North Korea has achieved in just two or three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cKim\u201d revealed that his country is currently implementing an \u201cimportant plan\u201d to strengthen its naval forces, noting that its results will emerge within eight months, without the official agency providing further details about the nature of the plan or the capabilities it will include.<\/p>\n
The North Korean leader pointed out that his country faces \u201cconstant threats\u201d in the sea east of the Korean Peninsula and its surrounding waters, saying that \u201cdangerous shadows must be erased,\u201d in reference to what \u201cPyongyang\u201d considers military threats in its maritime surroundings.<\/p>\n
