We have worked with her very well.&#8221; Trump did not directly name the individual involved, but the reference clearly pointed toward Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, the interim president of Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">Trump added that the former Secretary of State (Marco Rubio), who is no longer in office, was involved in the consultations, emphasizing that they have very good relations with Venezuela. Trump quoted him as having had a long phone conversation with the Venezuelan official that same morning.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">For his part, the son of the detained Venezuelan president Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro Guerra, shared a message from his father to the Venezuelan people via the official news agency (AVN), which read: &#8220;Trust in Delcy and her team, and trust in us.&#8221; Maduro Guerra confirmed that his parents are &#8220;very composed and strong, possessing a clear conscience and trust in God and the Venezuelan people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">This development comes after U.S. special forces arrested President Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in Caracas on January 3 and transported them to New York, where they face trial on drug trafficking-related charges.
