Manchester United defeats hosts Manchester City with goals from Mbeumo and Dorgu, as City justifies the result by a lack of sufficient force<\/b><\/p>\n

Manchester United succeeded in achieving victory over their hosts Manchester City in the Manchester Derby, with United scoring two second-half goals through Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu to end the match 2-0.<\/p>\n

Both teams displayed high skill during the encounter; Manchester United had three goals disallowed for offside, in addition to two shots that were saved by Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.<\/p>\n

The home side faced the risk of being reduced to 10 men within the first ten minutes when Manchester City defender Dalot stopped Jeremy Doku with a high-thigh challenge.<\/p>\n

Referee Anthony Taylor issued a yellow card to the defender Dalot, a decision that was supported by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).<\/p>\n

Manchester City clarified the referee’s decision by stating: “The referee’s decision to issue a yellow card to Dalot for a challenge lacking sufficient force was checked and agreed upon by VAR\u2014as the contact was deemed secondary and did not involve excessive force.”<\/p>\n

Manchester City manager Guardiola remarked: “It is a red card, but as a coach, it’s not enough to analyze that as the reason for losing the game\u2014it is what it is.”<\/p>\n

He added: “For 85 minutes, we were 10 against 11, I think, but if we had played simply, we would have touched it. I could say that and blame the decision, but we wouldn’t move forward and continue to grow.”<\/p>\n

He further noted: “It is what it is and there are no surprises; it has happened before since I arrived here. Honestly, we must look at ourselves. If my players have question marks, we will be in trouble in the future.”<\/p>\n

He also added: “We must look at ourselves, and today’s analysis is simple\u2014Manchester United was better and more clinical, and we must accept that.”<\/p>\n

Former Champions League official Darren Cann told BBC Sport that he believed Dalot was “very lucky to escape a red card.”<\/p>\n

He added: “It is difficult to see this at normal speed on the pitch from the referee’s perspective, but with the benefit of replays, I believe Dalot was very lucky not to receive a red card.”<\/p>\n

He also pointed out: “If the referee had been called to the monitor, I think he would have shown a red card.”<\/p>\n

Manchester City interim manager Carrick said: “I won’t give you that answer [like Guardiola], I didn’t see it, but I thought at the time that Diogo played the ball and cleared it. I didn’t think for a moment it was a harsh exit. I was told later that it was due to a lack of force [that he wasn’t shown a red card].”<\/p>\n
