The World Health Organization announces 3 deaths and one infection with Hantavirus among cruise ship passengers<\/h2>\n

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Sunday that three deaths and one confirmed infection with Hantavirus were recorded among passengers on a cruise ship sailing in the Atlantic Ocean. In a post on its official \u201cX\u201d account, the organization stated that the incident affected a total of six people, including three who died, while another was transferred to intensive care at a hospital in South Africa.<\/p>\n

In a related context, the World Health Organization explained that it is currently facilitating coordination between member states and the ship\u2019s operators in order to arrange a medical evacuation for two passengers who have begun showing symptoms suspected to be caused by the virus, in addition to conducting a comprehensive public health risk assessment and supporting the remaining passengers on board the ship.<\/p>\n

It added that the name of the ship or the company operating it has not yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n
