NATO: Our members could be “Russia’s next target”
NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, issued a warning on Thursday that alliance members could be “Russia’s next target.”
Rutte called for a rapid increase in defense spending to prevent a war similar to those witnessed by previous generations.
Rutte’s remarks came during a speech at the Munich Security Conference in Berlin. European leaders at the time were discussing a peace proposal aimed at ending the years-long Russian war in Ukraine, amid increasing US pressure.
The NATO Secretary General said: “We must be prepared because conflicts… are no longer fought from afar… the conflict…”
