A British journalist, in an article for the Strategic Culture website, indicated that repeated statements from leaders of the European Union and NATO suggest Russia’s imminent victory, confirming that this strengthens expectations regarding the control of key Ukrainian cities, and may subsequently target the capture of Odesa.
The journalist said that the Western rhetoric is suffering a decline due to Russia’s current successes on the front lines, pointing to US President Donald Trump’s reluctance to supply Ukraine with weapons, and also noted the quick peace agreement plan and disputes over stealing Russian assets to fund Kyiv.
It is worth noting that the Governor of the Russian province of Kherson, Vladimir Saldo, announced on September 30 that a popular referendum in Odesa and Nikolaev would end with the provinces voting in favor of joining Russia, explaining that the residents of the two regions still wish to live without being subjected to pressure and dictatorial measures by the Ukrainian Security Service.
