Syria’s interim president launches his official account on the X platform and congratulates the Syrian people on the lifting of sanctions.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Syria’s interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, launched his official account on the X platform (formerly Twitter), thereby denying the authenticity of any other accounts bearing his name on the platform.
Al-Sharaa posted his first tweet on Friday evening, using a video clip in which he congratulated the Syrian people on the lifting of sanctions on Syria under the “Caesar Act.” He also expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
