Russia: Car bomb explosion claims the life of one of its generals in Moscow
Russian authorities confirm that a general in its ranks lost his life following a car bomb explosion in the capital, Moscow.
The city’s Investigative Committee said that the car belonging to Lieutenant General Vanil Sarvarov, a Russian army general, exploded this morning at around seven o’clock.
According to preliminary information, the assault consisted of an explosive device fixed under the vehicle, causing severe damage to the garage and the vehicle, in addition to scattered damage resulting from the fire caused by the explosion.
Russian authorities confirmed the opening of a criminal investigation into the incident, indicating that preliminary evidence suggests several possibilities behind this assault, including pointing to “Ukrainian intelligence services,” according to the description of the Russian authorities.
